Stephen Colbert is shocked to learn he agrees with George W. Bush
By Jeremy Dick
Last night on The Late Show, Stephen Colbert said he feels like he’s in an alternate universe as he actually finds himself agreeing with George W. Bush.
Stephen Colbert never foresaw the day where he’d find himself on the same page as former president George W. Bush!
Last night, Colbert opened his Late Show monologue by revealing the ad Fox & Friends seeking a new Head Writer. Colbert gets a kick out of the fact that somebody is wring for Fox & Friends. “I thought they just got some monkeys drunk and gave them a Ouija board,” he jokes.
But what is really weighing down on Colbert’s thoughts at the moment is the news how Russia was proven to have gotten access to the voter rolls in several states. And apparently it’s not only the Department of Homeland Security making these claims about Russia, but the man who made the department, George W. Bush, is as well. In an era where many Republicans are seeming to side with Donald Trump no matter what, it’s interesting to see Bush on “the right side of things” and Colbert now refers to him as “formerly the worst president ever.”
“The only Republican telling the truth is George W. Bush,” Colbert adds at the end of his monologue, having clear trouble getting those words out of his mouth.
