Veep will be delaying airing its seventh and final season on HBO until 2019, according to one of the stars of the series Matt Walsh.

Sorry Veep fans, but it’s going to be a while longer for that final season!

According to ScreenRant, the seventh and final season of Veep has been delayed. Star Matt Walsh revealed that the show is currently on a hiatus and won’t even start filming until this summer. This, of course, will push the premiere of Season 7 well into 2019. Given that we’re just in the first month of 2018, it’s going to be a really long time until we see any new episodes.

Fans aren’t thrilled about the wait, but it’s understandable given what’s going on behind the scenes. Star Julia Louis Dreyfuss had been battling breast cancer, undergoing treatments to fight back against the illness. Walsh says the determined actress has completed her final chemo session and is eager to get back to work along with the rest of the cast. This extra time also gives the cast and crew more of an opportunity to make the final episodes as perfect as can be so the series goes out on a very high note.
