Stephen Colbert shows how Donald Trump is going senile
By Jeremy Dick
Stephen Colbert took to last night’s Late Show monologue to show how President Donald Trump seems to be losing his mind, perhaps even getting senile.
Does Donald Trump have dementia? As Stephen Colbert shows, it sure would explain a lot!
Last night on The Late Show, Colbert kicked off his monologue by diving into this very question. Sure, it seems obvious to Colbert and many other Americans that something is mentally off with the commander in chief. But now it’s getting to the point where more and more of us, even those who hadn’t been asking the question before, really have to consider it now.
Colbert points out how even the folks on NBC’s Morning Joe are talking straight up about how Trump seems mentally incompetent. Even those who are close to Trump are saying that Trump has “early stages of dementia.” The Joe anchors even comment on how it’s controversial for them to bring this up, but suggest they need to, asking, “When are we supposed to say this?”
“Before he was elected,” Colbert quips.
Colbert also points out how Trump’s own biographer is agreeing with this sentiment, saying Trump is “losing his grip on reality”. To prove the point even further, Colbert shows a clip of Trump at this week’s tax bill rally. Though Trump was supposed to be addressing taxes, he still couldn’t help but off on a tangent about “Rocket Man” and the impending nuclear war. “Sir, stay on the taxes, then go to nuclear war! Don’t go back and forth!” Colbert defiantly pleads.
