The Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki will be returning to the sitcom that first made him famous, reprising his Roseanne role for the show’s reboot.

Johnny Galecki may be enjoying his gig on one of the most popular sitcoms of all time as a part of The Big Bang Theory on CBS. But the actor is not forgetting his roots!

Years before finding mass fame and fortune on The Big Bang Theory, Johnny Galecki first made his mark on American audiences on another popular sitcom. Roseanne prominently featured Galecki as David, the on again and off again boyfriend of Darlene (Sara Gilbert). With news that the classic sitcom is set to come back to ABC with an all new reboot, Galecki had been rumored to be in talks to reprise the role — and, according to Deadline, his involvement is now official.

However, don’t expect David to be a mainstay on the revival. His involvement is going to be limited to a single episode. Obviously with such a busy schedule I don’t think this is that big of a surprise, and really, I think most fans would prefer to have a cameo as opposed to no appearance at all.

ABC has ordered nine total episodes for the upcoming revival. Surely, if it performs well, more episodes will be produced, meaning Galecki could potentially come back again. First, we’ll have to wait and see what happens with this first return season.
