Donald Trump defends Roy Moore, Stephen Colbert responds
By Jeremy Dick
Donald Trump refused to condemn scandal-ridden senatorial candidate Roy Moore from Alabama, and Stephen Colbert blasted him for it on The Late Show.
The allegations against Roy Moore have gotten so bad that many of his own Republican colleagues are condemning him… but not the president!
Recently, Donald Trump was asked point blank about his thoughts on Roy Moore. Trump writes off the accusations by repeating that Moore “denies it”, as if that means the whole thing is now case closed. Trump dodges further questions about Moore by just saying that he doesn’t want a liberal or a Democrat winning instead. “You have to listen to him,” Trump said publicly, seemingly taking Moore’s side.
Of course, Stephen Colbert had to bring this situation up on last night’s Late Show. “You have to listen to him, and not anyone at the mall, or the YMCA, or your conscience,” he jokes. After showing another clip of saying that Moore is in denial, Colbert quips, “Sir, I don’t think he’s the only one in total denial.”
The late night funnyman goes on to verbally slaughter Moore some more with some video clips. Though the president himself may be in denial, it’s clear to the rest of us that something is seriously wrong with this guy. You can watch the segment in the YouTube video below.
