Saturday Night Live premiered a new sketch Saturday night with various “celebrities” auditioning for the Lion King live show, including Eminem and Oprah.

If you think the casting for the live show of The Lion King is strange, just know that it could have been a heck of a lot stranger!

On last Saturday night’s Saturday Night Live, the live Lion King show became the focus of a hilarious skit. Multiple performers appear on film to audition for the show, all failing disastrously. Of course, these are just the SNL performers doing their hilarious impressions, but it’s really funny to think about these stars actually performing in the show!

Some of the performers include Kit Harington of Game of Thrones, attempting to sing that he just can’t wait to be King… of the North and Oprah Winfrey introducing “today’s guest” Simba. Many other stars are spoofed including Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Celine Dion, LL Cool J, and many more. The compilation is hilarious and it felt like they could have kept it going for even longer.

One can’t help but wonder if SNL will spoof the show itself in a future episode. The actual cast they went with is seemingly random at first glance (well, other than James Earle Jones as Mufasa).

You can watch the full skit in the YouTube video below.
