Netflix is ending its popular series House of Cards after its star Kevin Spacey admitted to making sexual advances towards a minor in 1986.

That’s gonna be a wrap on House of Cards!

Ever since premiering back in 2013, House of Cards has been a tremendous hit for Netflix. Critics and fans alike have praised the series for its stellar writing and superb acting, especially in its lead Kevin Spacey. Now, for fans of Spacey and the show, we’ve got some bad news… and some worse news.

First, the bad news. Netflix has officially announced that House of Cards will end after the sixth season airs in 2018. The news has been verified by all major outlets, such as Deadline. But the reason the show is coming to a close is actually the worse news, especially if you’re a fan of Spacey’s.

On Sunday, Anthony Rapp went public with claims that Spacey made aggressive sexual advances towards him in 1986. At the time, Spacey was 26, and Rapp was only 14 years old. Soon after, Spacey came out as gay and apologized for his “deeply inappropriate drunken behavior.” Both the apology and the “coming out” have not been being received very well.

Obviously, in this day and age, there is zero tolerance for this kind of behavior. If Netflix didn’t go ahead and end the show now, public pressure would have started mounting pretty quickly. Though the show is currently still filming, Spacey is said to be done with his scenes and is no longer on the set.

Next: Did Chelsea Handler quit her show, or was it cancelled?

Season 6 of House of Cards will consist of 13 episodes and air sometime on Netflix in mid-2018.
