After Kid Rock went on Howard Stern’s radio show and blasted the New York Times by calling it “gay”, Stephen Colbert offered a retort on The Late Show.

“It’s a little bit gay.” – Kid Rock describing The New York Times

Last night on The Late Show, Stephen Colbert played some clips from Kid Rock’s new interview with Howard Stern. Lately, the Michigan musician’s name as been in the news a lot lately because of his supposed Senatorial run. And though Mr. Rock went as far as to create the website KidRockForSenate.com, he now adamantly denies that his intention ever was to run.

In the clips, Kid Rock is bleeped so much you can hardly understand what he’s saying. But by using as many expletives as possible, he explains that he is not running for the Senate, nor was he ever. That seems silly considering how much talk was put into it previously, but get this, that’s not even the dumbest part of the interview.

On the show, Stern also showed his support for The New York Times by calling the publication a miracle. Kid Rock then had the most juvenile response possible by saying that it’s a “little bit gay.”

“I’m not sure exactly what Kid Rock thinks is gay about The New York Times,” Colbert says in bewilderment after playing the clip. “But I’m gonna guess it’s the reading part.”
