Fans of The Walking Dead might have already forgotten about Heath, who vanished without explanation during Season 7, but he will be back some day.

If you were wondering about Heath, then we have got some good news and bad news for you!

First, we will begin with the good news. Via ScreenRant, showrunner Scott M. Gimple has confirmed we will see Heath again. His story isn’t going to just end with him being straight up gone when Tara only finds his abandoned glasses after escaping Oceanside. The bad news? It’s probably not going to happen in the upcoming season.

From ScreenRant, here’s what Gimple said when asked about the chances of seeing Heath show up in Season 8:

“Not a huge chance. But we definitely have not seen the last of Heath, period. I will say that. I don’t mean to disappoint the Heathies. He will be on the show. He will be within The Walking Dead again.”

Every time Gimple has promised we’d see a missing character again, he’s delivered. Beth being taken by crooked cops and Glenn falling into a walker mosh pit come to mind. Gimple would promise those storylines would be concluded, and they were. So we can believe that he has something in mind for Heath when he does finally return.

Still, this is The Walking Dead after all. Even if they do find Heath, he could die in the very next scene for all we know. I guess we will see.
