Donald Trump throws Twitter tantrum over ‘worst ever’ Emmys
By Jeremy Dick
With Stephen Colbert taking shots at him throughout the entire night of the Emmys, it was only a matter of time before Donald Trump responded on Twitter.
Sometimes it seems like there’s nobody on the planet more predictable than Donald Trump.
This past Sunday night, Stephen Colbert hosted the 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Just like on The Late Show, Colbert had a lot of fun taking verbal shots at the president. But he was far from the only one — many performers slammed Trump throughout the night. Alec Baldwin had the best burn of them all, dedicating his Emmy win to Trump, telling him it’s Trump’s first Emmy win.
Surprisingly, Trump didn’t go on a Twitter tirade early the next morning like many of us were expecting. Well, the time came when Trump could no longer keep his rage inside, and posted this tweet about the event on his Twitter account:
Though the ratings aren’t as high as they’ve been in years past, they weren’t technically the worst ever. Colbert’s hosted show actually saw an improvement over last year’s Emmy Awards. And though these awards shows have drawn higher ratings before, 11.4 million viewers is still a very high number.

Still, you’d think the president would be more worried about North Korea and “rocket man” than he would about an awards show that he claims is “rigged”. But it seems that if his name is mentioned on something, Donald just has to check it out. Even if it upsets him enough to whine about it on Twitter.
