Ahead of his gig hosting this year’s Emmy Awards, Stephen Colbert will be appearing on the show of his late night competitor Jimmy Kimmel.

It seems like we’ve come a long way since the tense late night wars between David Letterman and Jay Leno!

Courtesy of Variety, it has now been confirmed that Stephen Colbert has been booked for Jimmy Kimmel Live. The Late Show host will officially be joining one of his competitors for a chat on Sept. 14. Likely, the spot will focus largely on Colbert’s upcoming gig hosting the Emmys, which will occur three days later on Sept. 17.

Kimmel has hosted the Emmys already but this will be the first time for Colbert. We can probably expect Kimmel to provide some tongue in cheek advice to Colbert for hosting the show. In any case, there’s a reason why Colbert is currently the king of late night comedy, so I don’t think he will have too many problems!

The Variety article mentions that Kimmel has came onto Colbert’s Late Show as a guest before in 2015. At the time, Kimmel joked about people thinking late night TV was like “the Crusades”. Kimmel and Colbert were quick to shut down rumors that there was any animosity between them. Indeed, when things used to be Letterman against Leno on late night, the feud was pretty obvious. Now it seems like it’s the norm for the late night comics to venture onto each other’s shows.

Jimmy Kimmel Live airs weeknights at 11:35 PM EST on ABC. Colbert’s Late Show airs at the same time, but over on CBS.
