9. Littlefinger has a special gift for Bran Stark

Despite the role Littlefinger played in Ned Stark’s death back in Season 1, he sure does like to stay involved with the family. He was in love with Ned’s wife (now dead), and now he’s set his sights on their daughter, Sansa. He is having some trouble seducing the girl, though, so now it seems he’s working his way into the family’s good graces through Bran, who had just reunited with Sansa.

Privately, Littlefinger gives a dagger to Bran as a gift. He explains that the last person to hold it was an assassin intending to kill Bran. He explains that if he had the chance, he would have taken the dagger that killed Catelyn. Though he wasn’t able to save her, he claims that now he tries to serve her right by doing what he can to protect her children.

Soon after, Meera stops by to tell Bran she is living, but he doesn’t seem to care. He agrees with her that she has no use for him anymore. Hurt by his coldness, she questions why he can be this way, but he merely says that he is no longer Brandon Stark.
