Game of Thrones: Season 7, Episode 4 – ‘The Spoils of War’ just premiered on HBO, and we’re recapping the episode with its 10 biggest moments.

Oh man… I can’t believe we are already over halfway through this season of Game of Thrones! I’m already feeling the sting of these damn shorter seasons.

Still, last night’s episode was absolutely insane, and it’s something we need to talk about right away. Let’s discuss the 10 most shocking moments from “The Spoils of War”, beginning with…

10. The Lannisters repay their debts (like always)

In the start of this episode, Bronn confronts Jaime looking to be repaid for all of his services. Though he received a hefty payment from Jaime, it’s not a “castle” like Bronn would have preferred. He even suggests taking Highgarden, though Jaime warns him that the upkeep wouldn’t be worth it. Not to mention, Daenerys Targaryan would come and take it back at any time, and they all know that.

Bronn points out the huge amount of gold they are carrying, but Jaime is quick to point out that it’s not his to give. After all, the Lannisters always pay their debts, so that money was going straight to the Iron Bank. The last thing the Lannisters need is a huge debt weighing them down, so fortunately that’s no longer an issue. For now, Bronn is sent to accompany the Tarlys in squeezing farmers for their harvest.

Cersei is praised for repaying the Lannisters’ debts to the Iron Bank. Apparently, nobody had ever paid such a tremendous debt with one huge payment before. I guess if any House would, it would be the Lannisters. Though Jaime still has to get the gold back to them before anything else can happen to it…
