Is Saturday Night Live on tonight, August 5th, 2017?

Is Saturday Night Live going to be on tonight, August 5th, 2017, with an all new episode on NBC? We have the answer for you here at Last Night On.

Will there be a new episode of Saturday Night Live premiering tonight? If you’re here, you want to know the answer to that question. So I’ll stop dilly-dallying and just get on with it.

Unfortunately, the answer is NO, Saturday Night Live is still off the air for the summer. After concluding Season 42, the series has been on a hiatus. Now that it’s August, we are getting a little closer to that premiere for Season 43, but it’s not here just yet.

Typically, the new season of SNL come around at the end of September or in early October. There’s still some time to go, but it will look pretty different when it returns as well. Bobby Moynihan, Vanessa Bayer, and Sasheer Zamata have all left the series as regulars. No word yet on new cast members, but news on that should be arriving in the coming weeks.

Additionally, the 42nd season of the show was the most watched season in over twenty years. That’s a tremendous milestone for the team at SNL and they are going to want to keep that momentum moving forward. And with Alec Baldwin getting a nomination for an Emmy for his time as Donald Trump on the show, you can be rest assured that Baldwin’s Trump will be popping up a lot in Season 43.
