Although she’s done mostly just film roles since Friends, Jennifer Aniston is heading back to television to co-star in a new TV show with Reese Witherspoon.

It’s not quite a Friends reunion, but fans of that show still ought to be happy to see Aniston back in a starring role on the small screen!

Earlier today, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Aniston is heading to TV to co-star in a new series with Reese Witherspoon. The show is being developed by HBO alum Michael Ellenberg, and will be shopped to various networks in the coming weeks.

As of now, this new TV series is not yet titled. The THR article notes that it’s about “morning shows and the larger New York media scene that they inhabit.” I guess we can assume it will be a fictionalized TV version of morning talk shows such as Morning Joe.

Ellenberg will be eyeing both TV networks like HBO and streaming services like Netflix to pick this show up. When you consider the big names involved, it seems very likely bidders will be lining up to grab it. We’ll be posting who picks it up once that news becomes available.

This will also be a mini-Friends reunion of sorts, as Witherspoon had a role on the NBC sitcom as Aniston’s younger sister. My gut also tells me that other actors from the series would have sporadic cameos on this new show as well.
