Is Saturday Night Live new tonight with an all new episode?

Unfortunately, the answer is NO. SNL is still on hiatus for its summer break. It’s going to be several months before we see new episodes of the Lorne Michaels show back on NBC.

The show’s last season, Season 42, had done wonders in restoring interest in the series. In fact, it had posted the highest numbers it had seen in about 22 years. It seems Saturday Night Live is enjoying a burst of new popularity and certainly they’re hoping it will continue when the show comes back.

Mocking Donald Trump, of course, has been one of the most popular aspects of the series. Alec Baldwin has been playing Trump on a consistent basis and is always hilarious. There is early talk of him winning an Emmy for his mockery of the president, and if he were to win, it would be completely deserved!

But when the show comes back, it will also look a little different. Longtime cast members Bobby Moynihan and Vanessa Bayer have officially left the series. Sasheer Zamata, whom had been around for three seasons, has also departed.
