Colbert grills Cartoon Donald Trump over his tweeting
By Jeremy Dick
An animated version of President Donald Trump came onto The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night, taking a roasting over his compulsive tweeting.
On previous episodes of The Late Show, Colbert has had Cartoon Donald Trump on as a guest. Given the turmoil between Colbert and the real president, this is as close as we’ll get to having Trump actually appear on Colbert’s show again. But although the animated Trump is a phony, he still comes across as an accurate version of the president.
Last night, Colbert brought up how Trump’s tweeting is really hurting his credibility. For example, after all of his defenders insisted that Trump wasn’t enforcing a “travel ban”, Trump then tweeted that it was definitely a travel ban. Every time Trump tries to defend himself on Twitter, he only ends up making himself look worse.
To give the president the chance to defend himself, Colbert had Cartoon Donald Trump come onto the show to address the issue. Colbert tells “Donald” about how he’s only hurting his case whenever he tweets. But in typical Trump fashion, Trump refuses to admit there’s a problem, and continues to tweet throughout the entire bit.

Cartoon Donald Trump may not be the real Trump, but he may as well be. To me he seems to be one of the most accurate representations of the president. But I’m not sure if I should consider that to be funny or horrifying.
