Third SNL cast member in a week leaves the show

Right behind Bobby Moynihan and Vanessa Bayer, Saturday Night Live star Sasheer Zamata is also saying goodbye to the sketch comedy series.
The next season of Saturday Night Live is going to look a little different.
Lately, there seems to be a mass exodus forming of departing SNL cast members. It began with Bobby Moynihan announcing his departure, just days before Saturday’s finale. Then Vanessa Bayer made it clear she’d be joining him, publicly revealing her leaving on the day of the show.
Now just a couple days later, it seems we can another name to that list, the third within a week’s time. Per The Huffington Post, Sasheer Zamata is now being reported to have left the series. Zamata first came onto the show in 2014, the first black woman in the cast in seven years (since Maya Rudolph left).
Although SNL gave a sly nod to Moynihan and Bayer leaving the show in a graduation skit, Zamata didn’t receive an on-air farewell. However, thanks to Zamata’s Instagram, we can see The Rock and the SNL cast made put her front and center for the in-studio audience one last time.
Zamata’s tenure on the series is about three years. That’s not quite as long as Bayer’s seven years of Moynihan’s nine, but it’s long enough to get comfortable with her being there. I’m a fan and although this disappoints me I wish her great luck elsewhere.

Are there going to be any others leaving the show as well? It’s hard to say, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
