‘God’ stopped by The Late Show to talk Donald Trump

In light of Donald Trump’s recent “religious liberty” executive order, our heavenly father Himself stopped by The Late Show to speak about the president.

On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night, Colbert brought up President Trump’s newest executive order. This is one meant to protect religious liberty in the country, supposedly. Unless, you’re a Muslim, in which case “Steve Bannon’s giving you a swirlie,” Colbert jokes.

The Late Show host says that he’s worried about too much politics getting involved in his church services. He doesn’t want to see the same division between Democrats and Republicans among the people in the church pews. Colbert wonders to himself if perhaps God just wants it this way, but that’s when the almighty creator Himself shows up to clarify things!

“No way, Stephen, no way!” God says right away. God then talks to Stephen about politics in religion, with Colbert asking if He ever takes part in politics — apparently, He’s too busy deciding more important things, like football games. On the subject of President Trump’s executive order, though, God apparently isn’t buying it. “Not a big fan of executive orders, they don’t work! I tried ten of ’em once, and everyone’s still coveting their neighbor’s wife and taking my name in vain.”

Now, obviously, this is just a tongue-in-cheek animation of God shown on the ceiling of the studio. Still, I can’t help but wonder if Trump will angrily tweet about God at 3AM tonight. Calling him a “highly overrated deity” and “one of the worst gods”.
