Stephen Colbert dismantles GOP’s ‘Zombie Trumpcare’ plan

Donald Trump is trying to bring his failed Affordable Care Act repeal back to life, and Stephen Colbert roasted the GOP for it on The Late Show.
President Trump’s first 100 days in office haven’t exactly gone down the way he promised. One of his biggest selling points was an immediate repeal of Obamacare. A hundred days in, all Trump has to show for that is a spectacularly failed plan to repeal it with no replacement plan in place.
On last night’s The Late Show, Stephen Colbert spoke about Trump’s desperation to have something to show for his first 100 days. This now involves the GOP attempting to revive their failed ACA repeal with a plan people are referring to as “Zombie Trumpcare”.
Colbert dove into some of the many things wrong with Zombie Trumpcare, notably the subject of pre-existing conditions. Under this plan, states would have the right to deny healthcare to people if they have a pre-existing condition. Colbert jokes because of this, New Hampshire is changing their state motto from “Live Free or Die” to “Live Here and Die”.
But one of the worst parts of all is how this bill conveniently exempts the GOP. However, Colbert notes that there’s an understandable explanation for why they’d want that. “Being a douchebag is a pre-existing condition for these guys,” the host says about the politicians supporting Zombie Trumpcare.

Zombie Trumpcare is appropriately nicknamed. Just like the rotting zombies on The Walking Dead, this is something that needs to be put down fast.
