Jimmy Fallon sings Google Translate Songs with Anne Hathaway
By Jeremy Dick
Jimmy Fallon and Anne Hathaway had some fun on Monday night by singing popular songs after the lyrics went through Google Translate.
Jimmy Fallon always excels at including his guests in the fun on The Tonight Show. Some of his most popular segments are the musical ones, such as the recurring Wheel of Musical Impressions. Now, he’s got a new hilarious musical game, as seen on Monday night.
On The Tonight Show, Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway came on as a guest. Fallon chose to put the Les Misérables star’s singing abilities to use by introducing Google Translate Songs. The idea is that song lyrics would be translated to Hungarian, and then back into English. Fallon and Hathaway would then have to sing the awkward new lyrics to the tune of the original song.
Hathaway kicks the segment off with “Can’t Feel My Face” by the Weeknd, which has the translated title, “My Front is Not Felt.” Fallon follows up with “I Will Survive” after a Google translation, which becomes “I Will Be Punctual”. The two cap things off with a hilarious duet — “Only Tell Me Grounds”, a new version of “Just Give Me a Reason” by Pink and Nate Ruess.
Watching the video will serve you so much better than simply reading about it. If you enjoy the musical skits from The Tonight Show, you will love this. You can watch the entire video below, courtesy of YouTube.
I could probably listen to an entire concert of these. It’s kind of inspiring to go run some other song lyrics through Google Translate to see what happens. But for the sake of everyone around me, I won’t bother actually singing them aloud.
