The Late Show with Stephen Colbert discussed MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and her report on President Donald Trump’s tax returns from 2005.

It was a wild day on social media on Tuesday afternoon after MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow tweeted that she would unveil President Donald Trump’s tax returns that evening. Unfortunately, the revelation wasn’t nearly as exciting (or revealing) as people were expecting.

On Wednesday night, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert had a little bit of fun of the news segment from Maddow and her staff. During Colbert’s opening monologue, he talked about how Maddow presented the tax returns, starting with 20 minutes explaining taxes and who Trump is, with many believing early on that she must not have had anything that important.

Of course, all the tax returns from 2005 showed was that Trump made a significant amount of money in that year. There was even a theory that Trump might have leaked the tax returns himself simply because there was nothing incriminating in them.

You can watch the entire segment from Colbert about Trump’s tax returns and Maddow’s report on MSNBC in the YouTube video below.

During the opening monologue, Colbert also brought back the microwave camera to make fun of Kellyanne Conway. He dropped some theories while addressing the microwave, while recommending to take off your tinfoil hat before you go into it or else the microwave will create some sparks.

He may not be Trump’s biggest fan, but continuing to talk about the President has done wonders for Colbert’s ratings, helping him beat out The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. As long as that’s the case, Colbert will keep trolling Trump.
