The Late Show with Stephen Colbert broke down Michael Flynn’s resignation after the national security advisor reportedly discussed sanctions with Russia.

While there are millions of Americans concerned with the events surrounding the White House and President Donald Trump’s administration, at least we have late night talk shows that continue to troll the living hell out of the POTUS and his staff.

All of the late night shows, including The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, had no choice but to talk about National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s resignation on Tuesday night. Flynn was asked to resign following reports that he had spoken with Russian officials about the United States’ sanctions before Trump was even sworn into office.

Colbert didn’t waste any time talking about the resignation, talking about it in Tuesday night’s opening monologue. The former Colbert Report host talked about how Flynn made history by resigning after just 24 days in office, while joking that it “is funny because it’s treason”.

You can watch the entire opening monologue from Tuesday night’s episode of The Late Show in the YouTube video below.

While it’s become quite clear over the past year that Colbert isn’t the biggest fan of President Trump, his constant trolling of the POTUS has helped The Late Show’s ratings. In fact, he was recently able to pass The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in ratings for the first time since he first took over for David Letterman.

Some of you may get tired of hearing Colbert constantly making fun of Trump, but when the ratings keep rising because of it, it’s going to make it that much harder for the jokes to stop.
