All 90s kids rejoice, because The Magic School Bus is coming back, this time Kate McKinnon will be the star.

The beloved show features a classroom of kids, going on adventures with their teacher Ms. Frizzle. Each episode features a new destination, and new opportunities for learning.

In a spinoff from the 90s version of the show, Netflix is taking a more modern and technologically friendly angle. In a report by Coming Soon the new series will be called The Magic School Bus Rides Again.

Kate McKinnon from Saturday Night Live is going to voice the teacher— Ms. Frizzle— which is perfect.

A more modern take on the original show will allow for more technology involvement, allowing kids to understand the different uses for technology. Each episode features a different destination, allowing for different types discovery and location-based learning.

The adventures will allow kids to discover different types of technology, ones that they might not have known about before. Hopefully this revamp will get kids interested in the field of science and technology, as it did in the 90s.

The bubbly and outgoing McKinnon seems like a good choice for this for this kid-friendly role. Her voice is captivating, and very easy to listen to, much like a teacher’s voice would. She also has experience working on other animated projects such as Finding Dory.

For kids who grew up with the original Magic School Bus, this is going to be a whole lot of nostalgia, and now you can watch it with your kids (or by yourself— we won’t judge).
