Sean Spicer wants Melissa McCarthy to ‘dial back’ her SNL impression
By Tyler Brooke
White House press secretary Sean Spicer has responded to Saturday Night Live’s sketch featuring Melissa McCarthy impersonating him.
The internet has been blowing up over the past weekend after Melissa McCarthy made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live to impersonate White House press secretary Sean Spicer.
Despite this being arguably one of the most popular sketches that SNL has produced this season, the press secretary himself apparently wasn’t the biggest fan of the impersonation of him.
Spicer talked briefly with AJ Calloway from Extra while at Super Bowl LI in Houston, and he was asked about the Saturday Night Live sketch. The White House press secretary said that his phone was blowing so much after the sketch that he thought there was a national emergency.
While Spicer did concede that the episode of SNL was funny, he also said that he felt like McCarthy “could dial back” on her impersonation of him. He also hasn’t been the biggest fan of Alec Baldwin impersonating president Donald Trump.
“Alec has gone from funny to mean, and that’s unfortunate,” Spicer told Extra. “‘SNL’ used to be really funny. There’s a streak of meanness now that they’ve crossed over to mean.”
If Spicer and president Trump aren’t fans of Baldwin’s impersonation of the POTUS, then they’re going to hate next week’s episode. Baldwin will be hosting the entire episode of SNL this Saturday, so there are bound to be plenty of jokes directed Trump’s way.

Hopefully we can get another appearance from McCarthy as Spicer as well, because she was able to steal the show this weekend.
