Jimmy Fallon welcomed Vanessa Hudgens to the NBC family by dueting on the Friends theme.

Vanessa Hudgens’ new comedy Powerless debuts this Thursday, a night on which beloved “Must See TV” sitcoms used to air such as Friends, which has gained a strong following among millennials years after it went off the air thanks to a streaming deal with Netflix. During her visit to The Tonight Show on Monday night, the High School Musical alum paid tribute to the NBC comedy by singing The Rembrandt’s “I’ll Be There For You” with Jimmy Fallon.

The host began by mentioning some of the series that have aired on Thursday nights on the network the past few decades, including Seinfeld, Cheers and Friends.

“Thursday night NBC had some of the biggest sitcoms in the history of television,” Fallon noted.

“We are friends. We are family, and we’re friends,” he added as the duo grabbed microphones from behind the sofas and went to the center of the stage to sing the classic theme song while sitting on brown stools, turning the song into a ballad. Watch their slowed down cover below:

Earlier, Hudgens revealed that more recent NBC sitcoms The Office and Parks and Recreation are her favorite shows of all time. She went on to describe Powerless, which is part of the DC Comic universe, but is not actually about superheroes.

“A lot of the shows we see are always about the superheroes, but it’s like, when you see an epic battle going on and they’re crashing into buildings, what happens to the people who are trying to walk to their job? So, we’re those people,” she explained. “We work at Wayne Securities; We’re in the Bruce Wayne Industries umbrella.”

Hudgens plays Emily Locke, the Director of Research & Development at Wayne Security, which specializes in products for ordinary humans who are poised to be victims of the battles between superheroes and supervillians. The show co-stars Danny Pudi, Ron Funches and Alan Tudyk, who plays Bruce Wayne’s cousin, Van.
