24. Carl and Enid to become a thing

I don’t think The Walking Dead will ever have a greater romantic relationship than Glenn and Maggie. It has been a firm staple of the show since Season 2, basically one of the support beams holding it together. Even with one of them leaving us this season, their relationship remains a big part of Maggie’s story moving forward.

But at the end of the day, Glenn is gone. This does create a void in the show. Having such a positive relationship on the series always helped to counterbalance all of the terrible stuff. Killing Glenn off and ending this marriage would play a huge part in why Season 7A feels just so damn bleak and miserable.

There seems to be an interesting new romance blossoming on the show, however. Carl and Enid are growing closer together, despite the latter’s reluctance. Enid is coming around to allowing herself to have new bonds with others, thanks to what Glenn taught her. And it’s really looking like she is going to give Carl a chance.

Will Carl and Enid have as magical of a romance as Glenn and Maggie? Who the hell knows, really. But I do want to see them give it a shot.
