Michelle Obama to visit Fallon’s Tonight Show for final time as First Lady
By Hector Cruz
Michelle Obama is making her last late-night TV appearance as First Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Michelle Obama will continue her farewell tour by making her third appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, Jan. 11, Variety reports. The First Lady recently sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey on CBS, and delivered an emotional speech at the White House on Friday where she thanked her supporters as tears filled her eyes.
During her first Tonight Show visit back in February 2014, FLOTUS appeared in an “Ew!” sketch with Fallon and Will Ferrell, and later danced alongside the host in an “Evolution of Mom Dancing” segment in April 2015. Her last appearance on the show as the sitting First Lady will come a day after her husband President Barack Obama’s farewell address in Chicago. The outgoing president helped give Fallon a ratings bump with his last appearance in June.

The First Lady’s most recent late-night appearances include a “Carpool Karaoke” ride with James Corden on The Late Late Show earlier this summer, and a visit to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in September, where she did an impersonation of the president and reacted to Melania Trump’s plagiarized speech at the RNC. It gave Colbert his biggest Tuesday audience in a year, and the show’s best demo rating since May.
That night’s episode will also feature a performance by Stevie Wonder, while the rest of the week will include appearances by Queen Latifah, Fred Armisen, Kevin Bacon, Greta Gerwig, Claire Danes and JK Simmons, with music from Sampha and The Flaming Lips. Here’s the week’s full schedule:
