William H. Macy (Florida)

William H. Macy has dozens of acting roles in feature films. While many of them have been small parts, he is featured in some prominent roles. You might remember him from being in films like Fargo and Boogie Nights. He’s very talented as an actor, and the Florida-born performer has since moved on to become one of TV’s greatest personalities.

If you’ve been watching Showtime at all since 2011, you’re aware of Shameless. That series sees Macy starring as Frank Gallagher, the patriarch of a highly dysfunctional Illinois family. An alcoholic and drug addict, Frank constantly puts his own needs over that of all of his family members. As a result, every relationship with every relative becomes strained, over and over again.

This role would not work if it were someone else playing Frank. Macy is very believable in the role, making you feel just a bit for the character when even his own family won’t. His fantastic performance has earned him several Emmy award nominations, and he won a Screen Actors Guild award for it. The show continues to air new episodes well into Season 6, and the end of the awesome series still doesn’t seem near.
