If you haven’t seen the AMC series Mad Men, you’ve still certainly heard of it. On the show, Jon Hamm stars as the advertising executive Don Draper. The series is very well acclaimed and Hamm’s performance has gotten a lot of attention as a result. For the part, he won both a Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy Award. You know he’s deserving even if you’ve only seen one episode of the show.

When Hamm was born in Missouri, he discovered an interest in acting at a very early age. His first acting performance is as Winnie the Pooh in the first grade. When the acting bug bit him even harder in college, he began responding to auditions. At one point, he becomes inspired enough to pursue an acting career that he moves to Los Angeles with only an automobile and $150 to his name.

Fortunately, it all works out for Hamm. As we know, he’s one of the most revered TV actors of recent years. Mad Men finally ended its amazing run back in 2015, but Hamm has been seen on other shows as well. This includes appearing on 30 Rock and having a recurring role on the Netflix original series The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
