Krysten Ritter (Pennsylvania)

We’ve seen Krysten Ritter in lots of different places before she made her name well known. For many, it was her appearance on the AMC drama Breaking Bad that really broke her out. Early into that series, she starred as Jane, the girlfriend of Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman character. Jane and Jesse were drug addicts, leading up to a heartbreaking scene where he loses her to an overdose.

Breaking Bad was a show that featured nonstop brutality from beginning to end. However, Ritter was only on it for no more than one season. Still, she’s one of the most memorable performers from the series, with fans really appreciating the Jane character. Her demise is one of the darkest moments, as Jesse’s partner Walter White has the chance to save her— but he doesn’t.

But Ritter would move on to becoming a well-known figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following the success of the Netflix original series Marvel’s Daredevil, a spin-off was ordered. Jessica Jones is that companion series, starring Ritter as the titular superhero character. With the power of super strength and heightened abilities, Ritter takes on the mastermind manipulator Kilgrave (played by David Tennant).
