Laura Prepon (New Jersey)

I’ve been a fan of Laura Prepon for many years now. When That 70’s Show began its run in the 90s, it became an instant classic. The ensemble cast was full of very likable and entertaining characters with their own unique qualities. One of them was Donna, played by Prepon, whose relationship with Eric Foreman (Topher Grace) was essentially the focal point of the series.

For the entire successful run of the show, Prepon stuck around. But all good things must come to an end, as did the popular sitcom. But that didn’t mean Prepon’s career was done. In the years following the end of the show, she would continue to reappear in various spots in television including How I Met Your Mother and October Road.

In recent years, her career has had a resurgence and she’s arguably more popular now than ever. On the Netflix original series Orange is the New Black, Prepon is one of the main stars. She plays Alex Vause, the ex-girlfriend responsible for the central character, Piper, winding up in prison. It’s a role that’s very much unlikely Donna from That 70’s Show, but Prepon has taken it on with incredible plausibility.
