You may recognize the character actor Jeff Kober from somewhere, even if you don’t know his name. He has been acting in films for many years, starting with a role in Tank Girl. He’s gone on to show up in many other movies like A Man ApartThe Hills Have Eyes 2, and Lost Voyage. But he has even more of an extensive television resume.

Kober can be spotted in dozens of TV shows over the years. You can find him in programs like MacGyverBurn NoticeStar Trek: VoyagerCSISons of Anarchy, and Lost. Perhaps what he might be most known for is as Joe in Season 4 of The Walking Dead. Joe and his group of “claimers” discover Daryl after he is separated from everyone else, taking him in. He meets his demise when Rick Grimes bites out his adam’s apple in a horrific scene.

More recently, Kober plays a hippie on the Showtime series Shameless. His character, Jupiter, is part of a commune living totally off the grid. He has a large grow operation for opium, however, catching the attention of the show’s lead character Frank Gallagher. A humorous scene sees the two of them wrestling in their underwear in a tub filled with mud.
