Bruce Campbell (Michigan)

Royal Oak born actor Bruce Campbell is a movie legend. After getting into acting as a teenager, Campbell collaborated with Sam Raimi on The Evil Dead. Two sequels would follow, turning the franchise into a horror phenomenon. His character Ash is probably the most popular protagonist in all of horror movies. Using a chainsaw in place of a hand, Ash destroys demons and looks damn “groovy” doing it.

In the years following the Evil Dead trilogy, Campbell’s done some television work. For years, he plays Sam Axe on the series Burn Notice, on top of plenty of roles in other shows. This also includes starring as the lead on the show Jack of all Trades. As great as he is in films, he is a complete natural for television.

Nowadays, Campbell reprises the role of Ash on the Starz network show Ash vs Evil Dead. The series serves as a sequel to the original Evil Dead films. The show is now very early into its second season, though the network has already ordered season 3. Horror fans love the show and it’s seen to be just as great as the original movies which inspired them. That’s, no doubt, thanks to Campbell’s performance as Ash.
