2. Daryl’s torture grows even worse with a certain Polaroid photo

You wouldn’t think it could get any worse than that annoying tune playing on an incessant loop. But there are even worse ways to break Daryl’s spirit. So that’s what happens next, following his failed attempt to leave the compound.

Dwight drops yet another Kibbles ‘n Bits sandwich on the ground in the cell. But this time, he has something else for Daryl. He tapes a Polaroid photo to the wall. Before leaving, he mentions how Daryl’s actions got one of his best friends killed. He then leaves on that note to let Daryl stew in these thoughts.

At first, Daryl throws the picture face down without looking at it. But the curiosity gets to him. Using the only sliver of light shining into the room, the picks up the photo to get a better look. It’s a picture of Glenn after being obliterated by Lucille. His brains are nothing but mush, and the image gives Daryl a crystal clear look at the damage his mistake had caused.

So, finally, Daryl completely shatters. With more annoying oldies music blaring on the speakers, Daryl weeps harder than we’ve ever seen him do before.
