Hannibal Buress admits he didn’t kick Flavor Flav on The Eric Andre Show

Hannibal Buress confirms that The Eric Andre Show edited it to look like he kicked Flavor Flav in the face.
In response to an angry rant by Flavor Flav over his recent Eric Andre Show appearance, Hannibal Buress revealed that he didn’t actually kick the Public Enemy rapper in the face as portrayed in the Adult Swim series. The former Flavor of Love star took to social media to voice his displeasure with the show after the episode aired last Friday night, taking particular issue with the portrayal of him getting roundhouse kicked at the end of the interview by Buress, Eric Andre’s disinterested sidekick.
The segment started off well enough, with Andre introducing Flav as a “civil rights leader,” but things started to go south when Andre asked Flav about Chuck D’s positive comments about the “racist and anti-Semite” Louis Farrakhan, which the rapper waved off, but he became enraged when the show’s sound guy touched his crotch in an attempt to fix his mic.
“You grab my dick, I’m going to punch you in the f*cking face and we’re going to be fighting right here on this motherf**king stage,” he shouted, before Andre attempted to grope him as well. The host then completely disrobed and got into a tub that was hidden under his desk.
“That mothef**ker’s not joking!” a shocked Flav said, before he appeared to be swiftly kicked in the face by Buress.
Flavor Flav first took to Twitter to give his take on the episode’s conclusion, before elaborating in a Facebook post:
Buress tweeted “what?????” in response to a Pitchfork post about Flavor Flav’s negative reaction, and engaged with some of his fans who threatened the comedian with violence, but he’s since elaborated on the incident. In an interview with the Washington Post to promote his stand-up tour, Buress assured Flavor Flav fans that he didn’t actually kick the rap legend in the face, essentially confirming Flav’s assertion that he was the victim of editing:
"“I think a reasonable person — that’s assault, to kick someone in the face. Just straight up kick a sitting person in the face, unprovoked? If you want to work in television in the business, in the future, it’s not something you would really wanna do on camera. I’ve gotten some messages from people, ‘Imma whoop your a— when I see you on the street for doing that to a legend.’ Come on man, relax. It’s funny just to see the line get blurred. My phone has been blowing up about that with just people, ‘Why did you kick Flavor Flav?’”"
The comic went on to discuss farting on camera, the presidential election, whether he’ll return to Broad City, and why there won’t be a second season of his Comedy Central series Why? with Hannibal Buress. During the Facebook Live chat, he also touched on the surprisingly long process of taping an interview on The Eric Andre Show:

This marks the second time Andre has angered a rapper with his antics, following T.I. becoming just the second guest to walk-off mid-interview after being exposed to male full frontal nudity. However, he’s since admitted the clip was funny after the episode aired.
The Eric Andre Show airs Fridays at midnight on Adult Swim.
