26. Richard Dawkins and Ms. Garrison become lovers

The two parter episodes “Go God Go” have a very interesting premise. Cartman is super excited for the release of the Nintendo Wii video game console. However, he has three whole weeks to wait, and that’s just too long for him. So, he freezes himself to skip the wait, with plans to thaw out when the Wii debuts.

But Cartman messes up and goes way too far into the future. The show reveals that atheist factions are all that remain, and they’re at war with each other. Richard Dawkins and Ms. Garrison had hooked up and eradicated religion, replacing it with global atheism. These atheist groups are at war with each other, and all Cartman wants is a Wii.

While trying to fix the timeline, Cartman calls Dawkins and Garrison. He interrupts them from having a passionate lovemaking session. On the call, Cartman reveals that Garrison is a post-op transsexual, and Dawkins ends the relationship immediately. This saves the future timeline.

In real life, Dawkins isn’t flattered. He thinks his depiction on the series isn’t funny. “I wouldn’t have minded so much if only it had been in the service of some serious point,” he implies. “But if there was a serious point in there I couldn’t discern it.”
