Chelsea Handler’s self-titled show has been picked for a 90-episode second season on Netflix.

Chelsea will return for Season 2 in 2017. The Netflix talk show hosted by comedian Chelsea Handler, which is currently in the middle of its first season, has been renewed for a 90-episode second season, the streaming service’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos announced Wednesday at the Television Critics Press Association, ET reports.

Handler herself has acknowledged that the series, which debuted in May, got off to a rocky start, receiving mediocre reviews from critics, and quickly seeing the exit of executive producer and showrunner Bill Wolff soon after its premiere. However, Sarandos remains optimistic about the future of Netflix’s first ever talk show, stating:

"“I used to think many years ago before we were doing this that the departure of a showrunner was like a failure, but now I just see it as a part of making good television. It’s a part of letting the show evolve creatively, figuring out the right chemistry behind the camera and in front of the camera talent, figuring out the right rhythms and how you want the show to be presented. In the early goings of the show, you see it evolving a little bit more with a mix of filmed content, guests — Chelsea’s been killing it booking some of the greatest talent for interviews — the filmed segments were really funny, the live comedy that they’ve been doing on set now has been increasing. It’s really finding the right rhythm for the show. All the elements are there, it’s just getting them lined up.”"

He went on to announce that Maria Bamford’s Lady Dynamite, the Will Arnett comedy Flaked and the Rob Schneider starrer Real Rob will also be back for second seasons sometime in 2017. Additionally, premiere dates for Black Mirror (Oct. 21, 2016) and the limited revival of Gilmore Girls (Nov. 25, 2016) have also been set.

Next: Bill Maher, Chelsea Handler slam Donald Trump's kids

Unlike on her E! talk show, which mostly revolved around celebrity chatter, Handler hasn’t shied away from politics on her Netflix late-night series, recently criticizing the adult children of Donald Trump, who she’s referred to as a “child,” alongside Bill Maher, and interviewing former Celebrity Apprentice contestants on why they think the Republican billionaire isn’t fit to be president. She’s also tried to give Chelsea, which reportedly has a $10 million price tag, a more global feel, taking excursions to Russia, Japan and Mexico City.

New episodes of Chelsea are available to stream every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night on Netflix. Be sure to follow Last Night On on Facebook and Twitter for updates on all of the late-night shows.
