Bill Hader (Oklahoma)

You could say Bill Hader was never meant to have a “normal” life, and could only have been an entertainer. Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Hader was always a class clown whose teachers could never get him to focus. His lack of taking school seriously resulted in low grades, keeping Hader out of the more prestigious colleges. He got a job at a movie theater with the perk of seeing films for free, but was fired when he spoiled the ending of Titanic to obnoxious patrons.

With dreams of becoming a filmmaker, Hader moved to Los Angeles and was able to obtain various work behind the scenes with feature films. Unhappy being a production assistant, Hader starting taking comedy classes and performed in shows for audiences. When Lorne Michaels attended a show based on a friend’s suggestion, he invited the whole group back to New York to audition.

Needless to say, Hader was brought on SNL in 2005, and stuck around as one of its funniest cast members until 2013. He’s had countless awesome impressions and recurring characters during that time, but the most popular might be Stefon, a flamboyant correspondent who’d appear with Seth Meyers on the Weekend Update segments.
