Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett, the offbeat comedic duo who became fan favorites during their run on Saturday Night Live, are teaming up once again. The longtime friends and collaborators have launched a new podcast that promises the same unpredictable energy that made their SNL sketches cult classics. With years of shared chemistry and a knack for turning bizarre premises into comedy gold, Mooney and Bennett’s latest venture is poised to be a must-listen for fans who’ve missed their unique brand of weirdness on late-night TV.
What's Our Podcast? will feature Mooney and Bennett interviewing guests in an effort to discover what exactly their podcast is about. “We don’t know what our podcast is about,” said Bennett in a video announcing the project. “I wonder if somebody could help us,” added Mooney. “Maybe our guests can, they’ll come on our podcast and give us an idea about what our podcast should be about,” Bennett replied.
Mooney and Bennett also teased who would appear on their new podcast. The guest list includes some fellow Saturday Night Live alumni, including former cast member Bobby Moynihan and writer Fran Gillespie.
Other guests slated to appear include Marc Maron, Jack Black, Brittany Broski, Kate Berlant, Skyler Gisondo, Meg Stalter, Tim Baltz, Claudia O’Doherty, Brennan Lee Mulligan, Sam Fragoso, Matt Rogers, and Tim Heidecker.
Bennett left Saturday Night Live in 2021, and Mooney followed in 2022. Since then, they've both made cameo appearances and performed during the show's 50th anniversary special. The podcast comes at an especially busy time in their post-SNL careers.
Mooney is coming off the release of his debut album, The Real Me, and a subsequent cross-country tour. He also directed the feature film Y2K that hit theaters in December 2024. His upcoming projects include the films Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie, The Man with the Bag, and A Place in Hell, as well as the series Ted: The Animated Series.
Bennett plays a supporting role in Superman and lends his voice to the adult animated film Fixed on Netflix. He'll also appear in the 2026 film The Last Resort. Both he and Mooney are set to appear in Platonic season 2.
It always felt like a matter of time before Mooney and Bennet collaborated on a new project. When they arrived at Saturday Night Live, the pair already had a cult following thanks to their Good Neighbor YouTube channel.
Their shared time at Saturday Night Live was marked by frequent collaborations, Digital Shorts, and short films that showed off their very specific sense of humor. And it looks like What's Our Podcast? will keep that spirit alive.
