Dangerous fires continue to rage across parts of Los Angeles, putting lives and property at risk. Two late-night TV shows will halt production as a result of the disaster.

The fires in Los Angeles have been called the most destructive in the city's history. More than 1,000 structures have been destroyed due to the blaze. The fire has spanned over 15,000 acres in the Palisades.

In response, CBS has put production of After Midnight on hiatus. The late-night TV show films at the Paramount Pictures lot in Los Angeles. The Palisades fire is to the west and the Eaton fire isn't too far to the north.

The show, hosted by Taylor Tomlinson, returned from its holiday break earlier this week. Rerun episodes are now scheduled for January 8 and January 9. Wednesday night's episode will replay the December 12 show featuring Fortune Feimster, Paul Scheer, and Ilana Glazer.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! will also shut down. The ABC late-night TV films at the El Capitan theater on Hollywood Boulevard. It's just two miles from the Paramount lot, raising a similar risk from both fires in the city. Wednesday night's show will replay the September 17 episode featuring George Clooney, Kaitlin Olson, the Smashing Pumpkins, and Oprah Winfrey.

Cynthia Erivo and Brian Jordan Alvarez were the originally scheduled guests. Timothée Chalamet and Fernanda Torres are planned for Thursday if Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs a new episode.

A repeat episode will air on January 8. Both After Midnight and Jimmy Kimmel Live! welcome live audiences to their tapings. Eliminating any risk to the public played into the networks' decisions to halt production.
