The Late Show with Stephen Colbert opened Monday’s episode breaking down President Donald Trump’s accusations directed towards Barack Obama.

It was another eventful weekend for President Donald Trump, who caused another media firestorm with his Twitter account. Of course, all of the late night talk shows had to talk about it, including The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

During Monday night’s episode of The Late Show, Stephen Colbert used his opening monologue to talk about Trump’s busy weekend at Mar-a-Lago. Of course, the dominant headline was the President’s claims that the former President, Barack Obama, illegally wire tapped the Trump Tower during the election.

Of course, Trump didn’t provide any actual evidence to this claim, and the only reported information that made the President take this stance was from a conservative radio host whose theory was picked up by Breitbart News.

Regardless, that didn’t stop Trump from taking it as fact, and now Congress is going to launch an investigation into the claims. You can watch Colbert’s entire opening monologue about the accusations in the YouTube video below.

We’re now getting to the point where President Trump can make any ridiculous claim and we have to investigate it, from Obama wire tapping the Trump Tower to the idea that three to five million people illegally voted in the 2016 election. As Colbert points out, we could need an investigation about Obama secretly hiding under Trump’s bed at night.

We’re still less than two months into Trump’s presidency, so don’t expect The Late Show or Colbert to slow down any time soon, because the constant trolling of the President is doing wonders for the show’s ratings.
