Election Day is finally here. And with it comes wall-to-wall coverage from around the country. That includes late-night TV.
Over the past few years, late-night TV has become an even bigger part of the political machine. Candidates stop by shows along with commentators, autors, and established politicians.
That has also lead to increased coverage on major political events. Debates and elections have been met with live episodes of shows like The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and others.
So now that Election Night 2024 is here, which late-night TV shows will go live?
Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Jimmy Kimmel Live! will not be live tonight, nor will a new episode air. Instead, the show will be pre-empted by ABC's election coverage.
However, Jimmy Kimmel will be back on Wednesday night with a brand-new episode. He'll be joined by Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer, and Tommy Vietor to discuss the previous night's events.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
Surprisingly, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert also won't be live tonight. Midterm elections and debates have led to special live episodes, but CBS gave Stephen Colbert the night off.
Wednesday night, The Late Show will return. Colbert plans to chat with journalist George Stephanopoulos.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Jimmy Fallon hasn't gone as deep into politics as his late-night TV colleagues. So it's not shocking to hear The Tonight Show won't be live tonight.
Tomorrow night, Fallon welcomes Whoopi Goldberg, Conrad Ricamora, and Rosie Perez to the program.
Late Night with Seth Meyers
Late Night with Seth Meyers follows Fallon's lead. The NBC show also gets election night off and won't air a new episode.
Joel McHale and Ali Larter are on the guest list for Wednesday night. However, expect Seth Meyers to take a closer look at whatever happens tonight.
The Daily Show
Finally, there is one late-night TV show going live tonight: The Daily Show.
Jon Stewart will be behind the desk beginning at 11:00 p.m. ET. The Daily Show Presents A Live Election Night Special With Jon Stewart: Indecision 2024: Nothing We Can Do About It Now will focus on the swing st
Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, Gov. Katie Hobbs of Arizona, and Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist II of Michigan are expected to appear on the show.
