Tina Fey reveals her TikTok obsession (and why you shouldn't try to follow her)

Tina Fey's writing proves she can find the absurd and hilarious in just about anything. That kind of attention to detail can lead to some obsessive behaviors, which may explain why the Saturday Night Live icon is hooked on very specific TikTok videos.

Fey remains one of the busiest stars in Hollywood right now. She's coming off writing and performing in Saturday Night Live's 50th anniversary special, plus she's gearing up for more of her stage show The Restless Leg Tour with Amy Poehler. Her Netfilx series The Four Seasons is also now streaming.

Fey and Poehler gave fans a preview of what to expect when they teamed up for the debut episode of Poehler's podcast, Good Hang. Between sharing stories about Saturday Night Live and bashing side hustles, Fey gave some insight on her TikTok habits.

"I like to watch videos of people either doing or learning or trying to teach Beyonce's 'Homecoming' dance break," Fey shared. And apparently it doesn't matter if the person can do the dance or not -- Fey is all in. Bonus points if the person looks like they shouldn't be able to pull off the choreography.

Fey's TikTok obsession even inspired her to try to learn the moves. But she admitted she's not a great dancer and wouldn't learn the steps no matter how much time she had on her hands.

Don't try to follow Tina Fey on TikTok

Tina Fey prefaced her TikTok story on Good Hang with a disclaimer. Her TikTok profile is private, so do not make any attempt to follow her.

"I am not a public account," Fey said. "Don't find me. Don't look for me." Amy Poehler followed that up by reminding the audience that anyone claiming to be Fey on the app is an imposter.

But the fact that Fey uses TikTok at all is a bit of a surprise. The Saturday Night Live legend previously made it clear that she's not one for social media.

In the past, Fey suggested people should be licensed to use Twitter to eliminate boring people. She also claimed she didn't use Twitter because she didn't want to give away jokes for free.

Having a personal account set to private is much different, of course. But there are probably still some die-hard fans out there who'd love to see Tina Fey post some TikTok dances for everyone to enjoy.
