Marvel is making a full-court press to promote Thunderbolts* as its cinematic universe looks to get back on track. The promotion tour comes to late-night TV tonight as the cast takes over one show on Monday.
Thunderbolts* collects some of the MCU's biggest antiheroes and misunderstood characters, like Yelena, the Winter Soldier, and Taskmaster, and sends them on a mission. Early reviews suggest the cast's mission of getting a much-needed win for Marvel was a success.
The movie hits theaters on May 2, and the cast has been hard at work promoting the movie ahead of the release. Tonight, they arrive on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to take over late-night TV.
David Harbour (Red Guardian), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent), and Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost) will sit down with Jimmy Kimmel to talk all things Thunderbolts*.
It makes sense Marvel would send the cast to Kimmel. Both the movie and late-night TV show are Disney properties. Plus, Kimmel is the biggest comic book fan in late-night, having hosted the cast for just about every major Marvel and DC movie over the past two decades.
With a guest list this big, expect Kimmel to have something special planned. Past Marvel cast appearances suggest a game or some kind of contest could be in store. Just don't expect anyone to give much detail about the actual plot of Thunderbolts*.
Thunderbolts* cast set to appear on other late-night TV shows this week
If you don't get your fill of Thunderbolts* on Monday night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, then you're in luck. Tonight is just the start of Marvel week in late-night TV.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, better known as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in the MCU, will visit Kimmel on Tuesday night. Florence Pugh is set to appear on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday, April 30.
And as an added bonus, Jeremy Renner (aka Hawkeye) arrives on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, April 29. The actor has nothing to do with Thunderbolts* or any other upcoming Marvel project (yet). But he is out promoting his memoir, so his Marvel career is bound to come up in coversation.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs tonight, April 28, at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.
