Donald Trump has won the 2024 Presidential election, and the media world is reeling. Several talk show hosts are at a loss for words, and were even before Trump was declared the winner. The Daily Show's Jon Stewart made a plea to continue fighting, and the women on The View tried to address what happened on their own terms Wednesday morning.

Ana Navarro lamented what could have been if the Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris, has proven to be the victor. "History slipped through our fingers again," she stated. "Today we can be sad, [but] we will not stop fighting." Whoopi Goldberg praised Harris for achieving as much as she did despite only being given four months to put together a campaign.

Joy Behar reluctantly accepted the results

Joy Behar took a slightly different approach with regards to her read. She focused on the notion that the election was carried out fair and square, and claimed that she will respect the outcome despite it not being what she wanted:

" I vehemently disagree with the decision that Americans made, but I feel very, very hopeful that we have a democratic system in this country."

It was Sunny Hostin, however, who had the most dire read on the situation. The host was "profoundly disturbed" by the fact that Donald Trump managed to triumph over Harris, especially given that the public has already seen him in action as POTUS.

Sunny Hostin fears for the working class

"In 2016, we didn’t know what we would get from a Trump administration," Hostin added. "But we know now, and we now he will have almost unfettered power." The host also lamented the fact that the working class will suffer as a result of Trump's election. She noted that wealthy people like her are going to be fine, but feared for those who live paycheck to paycheck.

Hostin's comments arrive shortly after she castigated Trump for allowing hateful comments about Puerto Ricans to be made during one of his campaign rallies. The comments did not seem to deter Latino voters, however, which is something Hostin alluded to. "I think this was a referendum of cultural resentment in this country," she concluded.
