We start with some disappointing news when it comes to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, but there are some new episodes to come. Let’s take a look at everything to expect this week, starting Monday, Jan. 19.
As it’s Martin Luther King Day, some of the late night shows are taking the night off. The Late Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live! will both have reruns airing tonight, Monday, Jan. 19. The rest of the week will have new episodes with plenty of interviews to get excited about, and we have the full schedule of The Late Show below.
Friday is a rerun, as usual. The late night shows have moved to a four-day week to help with budget costs. The two reruns of the week have also been confirmed, with Paul Giamatti’s episode airing on Monday, Jan. 19 and the Jen Psaki episode airing on Friday, Jan. 23.

Tuesday, January 20
The first new episode of the week will feature Senator Bernie Sanders, who is sure to come on to speak about everything that’s currently going on in the world. It looks like he’ll take up most of the show, although when the guest list is this small, it usually means a surprise is up Colbert’s sleeve.
The episode will end with a performance by Lucinda Williams. She’s sure to perform tracks from her new album, “World’s Gone Wrong.”

Wednesday, January 21
Colbert will then have Jane Fonda on the show, who will talk about Earth Day. While an actress, she is also a climate activist, and she’ll want to talk about things people can do to protect the Earth. Yes, there is also promotion of Dear Everything, which is a musical uprising for the Earth.
Jessica Williams will then chat all about Shrinking season 3. The season premieres on Wednesday, Jan. 28, so this is the perfect time to tease what’s to come and get people ready for the stories.

Thursday, January 22
The last new episode of the week is focused on Chance the Rapper, who will pull double duty with an interview and as the musical guest. He’ll chat all about his new album before a performance.
Then it’s over to Maria Stephan, who will talk about the book she has co-authored, Why Civil Resistance Works. The book focuses on the power of non-violent protests, which is going to be important for today’s current social climate.
As usual, the schedule is subject to change, but it’s rare that that happens.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on CBS.
