After taking the whole week of Thanksgiving off, fans of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert are ready for something new. This is where we have some good news, as there are planned new episodes of the series.
It’s a little confusing this week, as the official Paramount press site didn’t release the list of all the new guests. It means digging a little further to find out who will take to the stage. Of course, as usual, there is a chance that the schedule will change last minute due to guest availability.

Monday, December 1
We kick off the start of a new month with Lady Gaga, who is currently back on tour and promoting her music. She will take “The Colbert Questionert” during the episode, which is always a lot of fun. Then Mikie Sherrill will join Colbert to talk about the New Jersey Governor-elect.
There is also set to be a special appearance by Daniel Craig, which is likely to be about the latest Knives Out movie, which was released back in November. As for performances, get ready to see a performance from The Queen of Versailles with Kristin Chenoweth and Stephen Schwartz.
Tuesday, December 2
Colbert continues with the political guests on Tuesday night, although this time, it’s a political commentator rather than someone elected. Rachel Maddow, who hosts her self-titled news show to report on political affairs, will take to the stage to discuss her award-winning podcast Ultra. The show is back for its second season, and now is the time to tune in.
Then there will be a performance by Drive-By Truckers featuring Jason Isbell, a southern rock group that you will not want to miss.
Wednesday, December 3
Hump Day will feature an interview with Michael Shannon. He is there to talk about the making of Nuremberg, a new historical fiction piece about the Nuremberg trials, but we also hope there will be questions about Death By Lightning, as he played a president often forgotten about, James Garfield.
Jessie Buckley will then answer questions about her latest movie Hamnet. In this, she plays the wife of William Shakespeare, Agnes, a woman often overlooked due to her husband’s fame.
The rest of the week is still set to be organized, which isn’t unusual. It often means that there will be reruns for the remaining two episodes of the week, but we’ll be sure to keep an eye on the plan.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on CBS.
