There are a few new shows to look forward to in 2026, and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins is one of them. The NBC comedy series will debut officially in February, although it’s getting a special one-off premiere on Sunday, Jan. 18 after the big game.
That’s not the news we’re sharing, though. The new Tracy Morgan comedy will see a Daily Show host get a guest star spot, and there’s a lot to look forward to.
Which The Daily Show host will join The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins?
Michael Kosta has landed a role on the new comedy series. He’ll take on the role of Brett Mann, a smug and self-important host of a SportsCenter-style program, according to Variety. So, while he currently sits behind the Daily Show desk, he’ll be switching that out for another desk.
Kosta does have experience in sport, as he was a professional athlete before turning to The Daily Show. He also hosts the Tennis Anyone podcast and he still contributes to the Tennis Channel for those who love that sport. However, he’s not a smug and self-important host. At least, not that we’ve seen, and he probably wouldn’t have made it on the Daily Show if he was.

What is The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins about?
Tracy Morgan plays the titular role, a disgraced former football star who wants to improve his image. The best way to do that is to turn to Arthur Tobin, an acclaimed filmmaker played by Daniel Radcliffe. The two enter a journey together, where Reggie is forced to confront the ghosts of his past.
It’s not clear how Kosta’s Brett will fit into all of this just yet, or when he will appear in the series. With the idea of Reggie having to face his past, it’s possible that Brett had some sort of involvement in Reggie’s downfall. After all, sports hosts do love to replay the downward spirals over and over again, don’t they?

When to watch the new NBC comedy series
There is an early premiere on Sunday, Jan. 18. It will follow the Ram-Bears NFL game, which also airs on NBC. This makes a lot of sense, being a new show. NBC will want to give it a coveted spot to give it a good chance of success.
It will then take a break until Monday, Feb. 23, when the pilot episode will air again at 8 p.m. ET/PT. A new episode will air at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, which will become the regular timeslot for the new comedy, straight after new episodes of St. Denis Medical.
We’ll be sure to keep an eye on the episode Kosta will be in.
