Seth Meyers officially landed the most coveted late-night guest of October 2025 for an appearance on Late Night. But this won't just be any appearance. Late Night with Seth Meyers is hosting Grammy Award-winner Taylor Swift for what the show is referring to as a "TAYkover."
Swift will appear on the Wednesday, Oct. 8 episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers and will be the only guest featured on the episode. That means, Swifties will likely be able to enjoy an extended interview with the superstar as she promotes and discusses her new album The Life of a Showgirl, which releases on Friday, Oct. 3. There might be some other topics for her to chat about, too.
Meyers announced Swift's appearance in a social media post, in which he's wearing the sparkly orange Life of a Showgirl cardigan Swift sold exclusively on her website. He also drank from a light green mug featuring sparkly orange print reading "TAY/kover" and the date of Swift's appearance. Meyers allows the props, and the first few seconds of "...Ready for It?," to do the talking.
Taylor Swift sets takeover of NBC's late-night talk shows
Obviously, everything Taylor Swift does comes with theories and question marks, and the fact that she's the only guest for that episode of Late Night leaves room for some theories and question marks. Could she possibly save some time for a surprise debut performance of new single "The Fate of Ophelia"? We'll have to wait and see, but you never know what tricks she has up her sleeve.
Late Night with Seth Meyers won't be Taylor Swift's only late-night talk show appearance to promote The Life of a Showgirl. She will also appear on NBC's other late-night talker The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, Oct. 6, though she won't be the only guest for that episode. Keri Russell also appears, and there will be a musical performance by band The Format.
Additionally, Swift will appear on BBC's The Graham Norton Show on Friday, Oct. 3 alongside fellow guests Cillian Murphy, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Domhnall Gleeson and musical guest Lewis Capaldi. Swift's trip across the pond of Norton's show was pre-taped in advance of the Oct. 3 airdate, though her appearances on NBC's late-night shows at 30 Rock will be day-of.
There's a lot of Swift appearances to look forward to on the small screen in addition to her latest big-screen output, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, which hits theaters in celebration of the album on Oct. 3. In the film event, Swift will talk about each of the songs, share lyrics videos and behind-the-scenes footage, premiere a new music video, and lots more.
She will surely be talking with Meyers and Fallon about the film event, the album, her engagement, and everything fans want to know. Be sure to tune in on NBC next week!
